The 2025 Young Scholars Conference on Industrial Design Opens in Yuhuan, Zhejiang.

China News Service, Zhejiang News, October 25 (Cao Dan, Wu Qun) — On October 24, the Youth Academic Conference on Industrial Design 2025 and the Second Academic Conference on Innovation Design and Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering kicked off in Yuhuan City, Taizhou Prefecture, Zhejiang Province. Under the theme "Design, Intelligence, and Symbiosis: Reshaping the Innovation Paradigm for Future Manufacturing," the conference brought together over 300 experts and scholars from more than 100 universities, research institutions, and enterprises both at home and abroad to discuss the future of industrial design development.

　　Chen Bin, Deputy Secretary of the Yuhuan Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, stated that as a national-level manufacturing powerhouse and an innovative industrial design city, Yuhuan will continue to promote the deep integration of manufacturing with design disciplines, helping to create a new regional industrial landscape characterized by "design-led innovation and intelligent manufacturing-driven empowerment."

　　Wang Guobiao, Vice Chairman of the Standing Council of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, pointed out that industrial design is currently at a critical stage where digitalization and intelligent technologies are converging. The theme of this conference aligns with the trend of industrial transformation and reflects the design community's commitment to advancing China's path toward modernization.

　　The 30th National Academic Conference on Industrial Design held a flag-handover ceremony for the host institution, with Northwestern Polytechnical University officially taking over to organize the next conference. Meanwhile, the official launch of the celebration activities marking the 40th anniversary of the Industrial Design Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering was also announced.

　　During the keynote session, experts and scholars delved into cutting-edge discussions on intelligent design. Wu Qiong, Dean of the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University, analyzed the profound transformation AI is bringing to the field of design. Xu Jiang, Dean of the School of Design at East China Normal University, examined the theoretical framework of intelligent interaction design from the perspectives of cognitive philosophy and technological phenomenology. Professor Joydeep Bhattacharya from Hong Kong Baptist University shared the latest research findings on brain-computer interfaces in the realm of creative design. Meanwhile, Professor Sun Shouqian from Zhejiang University explored the developmental pathways through which artificial intelligence is reshaping industrial systems.

　　This conference will continue until October 27, during which multiple sub-forums will be held, focusing on areas such as generative intelligent design, digital and intelligent manufacturing, and human factors engineering. (End)
